Message to Local Business Owners
Dear Local Business Owner,
Diablo Valley College is facing a severe crisis. DVC is a premier transfer institution. We also offer many vocational degrees and certificate programs such as Sports Medicine, Coaching, Personal Trainer, Horticulture and Fitness Instruction. We offer 17 intercollegiate teams and 375 student-athletes participating each year. Last year we finished 18th in the State in the Pepsi National Alliance of Two-year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Cup. The Cup recognizes overall athletic excellence.
The budget crisis is affecting our "non-essential" offerings. The Athletics Department eliminated uniform replacement, meal money and overnight travel for coaches and athletes. In order to raise funds we are requesting that your company sponsor our teams through a program advertisement calendar, stadium advertisement and/or direct donation to a specific sport. Please help us preserve our athletic programs which has a storied history since 1951.
Checks should be payable to: Diablo Valley College with the trust account number that identifies the sport. Sport schedules can be found at www.dvc.edu, click on "Athletics". Send your contribution to DVC in care of: Steve Ward, Athletic Director; 321 Golf Club Road; Pleasant Hill, CA 94523-1544.
