A Note from the President |
Welcome to Diablo Valley College—and thank you for choosing to continue your education here
with us. Our institution has an outstanding reputation for offering the highest quality
liberal arts and sciences programs, taught by exceptionally dedicated and experienced faculty.
|
At DVC, we believe the college is the sum of its parts. Everyone here—students, faculty,
staff, administrators—contributes to the whole with its wonderful diversity. As a
student, you are an integral part of that diversity, and we invite you to become an active
participant in our community.
|
In our Vision Statement, we attest that our college is “committed to the community it serves, to
the development of our students as responsible citizens of the world, and to the positive
transformation of student lives.” The college has a culture that honors and respects the
inclusion of all people and all work. It is also celebrated as a “learning-centered
community” whose faculty and staff are proud to be here, and are passionate about helping
students to reach their potential and to achieve their goals.
|
Diablo Valley College is an enthusiastic, exciting and dynamic institution that is
constantly evolving and changing to meet the needs of our students and the communities we serve.
|
I see education as a social resource replenishing knowledge and skills for creative and
technological development in the creation of a global society. It is our mission to provide
leadership that supports student access, equity, and success. My
educational philosophy statement is below.
|
As I begin my tenure here, I invite you to join us as we seek to improve and expand our Circle of
Enlightenment, to make today’s dreams tomorrow’s realities.
